June 6, 2008 (FPRC) -- Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd., Organizer of the “25th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2008” or Motor Expo 2008, staged a press conference at IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, to confirm its preparedness in organizing the Expo and begin taking reservations for exhibition Areas, heavily attended by representatives of interested car companies and vendors of accessories.
Mr. Kwanchai Paphatphong, President of Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd. And Organizing Chairman of the “25th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2008” disclosed, “The venue for this year will be the same as last year, that is, Challenger 1-3 on a total area of 60,000 sq m. In the allocation of Areas there are only minor adjustments for appropriateness and to meet requirements of car companies. The largest Area is 1,400 sq m and the smallest 900 sq m. Regulations on discount are also similar to past years except that special discount for car companies with total car sale not more than 50 units has been dropped, leaving only the discounts for less than 100 units and more than 100 but less than 350 units”.
“Moreover, companies that require the same Areas this year as last year will be entitled to special booking bonus points, in order to promote the international pattern as adopted in major Motor Shows all over the world where each company will occupy the same Area as before so that visitors will know immediately where the cars that they come to see are located.”
The Organizing Chairman continued, “This is the first year for the Motor Expo and the first time for many car makers to get permission from their holding companies to use the display kit and booth decoration kit, as used in motor shows all over Asia, in Thailand.
“About car sales in the Expo, judging from car sales growth of more than 10% in the first quarter, it can be expected that the growth will continue in the remaining quarters right through to the end of the year, thereby providing a chance for car sales in the Expo to exceed last year figure of about 17,000 units, because consumers have more confidence in spending and car companies have been launching new models one after another, especially small cars which comprise a segment to watch, such as Proton, Tata, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Mazda, and those of Yontarakit group including PPV from a major car company that Thai consumers have been long waiting for, will be launched in this Expo also.”
"In the recent past, consumer purchasing power did not diminish, only consumers exercised more caution in spending. And when it came to car buying they tended to wait for attractive sales promotions and campaigns in our Motor Expo,” the Organizing Chairman said in parting.
The “25th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2008” will be held from November 29 to December 10, 2008 at IMPACT Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani, under the slogan "OBLIGATION OF MANKIND TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING".
