R&b Artist Will Preston Takes on Promoters and Club Owners
Will Preston plans summer tour dates; urges promoters to take a look.

June 9, 2008 (FPRC) -- Up and coming R&B artist Will Preston has a lot to sing and smile about these days, but with all the success he shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, it seems to be just the opposite. After releasing two successful projects, his debut It’s My Will and a live DVD/CD set entitled Caught In The Act…The LIVE Experience, he’s currently working harder than ever to promote those projects and become more visible to soul music fans. Will acknowledges that being an independent artist presents certain challenges that major label artists don’t contend with such as booking. “At times it seems that we indie artists have a much tougher time securing events. We often have to work twice as hard to get the attention of promoters and club owners. Once they actually take a look at us they appreciate the talent, but getting their attention initially oftentimes presents a challenge,” says Will. Even with the challenges, Will insists that being independent is still worth it in the end.
Both, It’s My Will and Caught In The Act, have generated significant buzz for this young indie artist who calls Atlanta home. His projects have been released all over the globe including the UK, Japan, Germany, of course the US and many other territories. Will has his hopes set on an international tour in the near future but says he’s taking it one step at a time, being careful to build the foundation that is essential to his long-term success.
While touring is what many recording artists refer to as the grunt work of the industry, Will lavishes in every opportunity to perform offering, “This is what I love to do. This is who I am. It gives me a chance to get out there and meet the people who love what I do. It’s an amazing opportunity.”
Will is currently adding dates to his summer calendar and looks forward to sharing his music with old and new fans alike.
