June 16, 2008 (FPRC) -- Washington, DC -- Fashion designer Aswad Abasi’s Phoenix Rising, a showcase of his latest couture collection, will descend upon Washington, DC’s independent fashion scene with a cosmic impact the evening of June 27, 2008. This innovative couture fashion gala will benefit the WVSA Arts Connection, making this a true fashion-for-a-cause event.
Abasi Couture is the junction of style, elegance, structure and function. From his private design studio in Washington, D.C., Abasi gives eternal life to his creations, on the wings of his ingenuity and preeminent ability to foresee the future of fashion. The line is a celebration of movement, fluidity and the pure essence of the creative process—rebirth and renewal. Join Abasi as he honors the triumph of his line, through all that has or will transpire.
“This show will leave all in attendance with a sense of warmth and enlightenment in their hearts and minds, the same way I feel when I'm designing clothes,” Abasi explains. “I want them to be able to connect to my work as it is presented to them.”
Light hors d'oeuvres, fine wine and a chic guest list will make the event an experience to remember. The extraordinary DC fashion event will provide trend savvy spectators an opportunity to feast their eyes on irresistible, ingenious fashions. A portion of the proceeds from Phoenix Rising will profit the WVSA ARTs connection. WVSA ARTs connection is a unique and dynamic nonprofit organization that has been serving Washington DC area children and youth for over 25 years. All creativity is meant to be cultivated, and the forces behind Phoenix Rising believe that there is an artist in everyone.
