June 23, 2008 (FPRC) -- Life Play Ireland, representing Playworld Systems, Inc. announced today the launch of NEOS™ in Ireland. This unique new product brings electronic gaming to the outdoor play space. The NEOS intriguing design includes four columns with interactive sound and buttons.

The buttons light up in random sequence depending on game selection and provide an exhilarating new way to play outdoors. With nine different games and three skill levels to choose from, one or more players can have their scores recorded, making NEOS competitive and challenging while improving agility, balance, fitness, and social skills.

“The development of the NEOS game followed our desire to provide a new direction in outdoor play,” said Matt Miller, president of Playworld Systems, Inc. “With the popularity of indoor electronic games, such as Dance Dance Revolution™, we wanted to create a product with the same conceptual technology, but one which brings family and the community outdoors to the playground where they can actively have fun together.”

A common complaint among parents today is the inability to get their children off the couch and away from indoor electronic or online games. As childhood obesity is on the rise, parents are looking for alternate ways to simultaneously encourage activity and teach lifelong skills. “Not only can NEOS be an incredibly energetic game that can leave your heart pumping, it also promotes social interaction, achievement, teamwork and healthy competition,” said Miller.

Brian Doyle, Joint MD of Life Play Ireland, says "This product bridges the gap between indoor on-screen play and the playground. It is an innovation unmatched by other suppliers to the Play Sector in Ireland and will enhance active play for all ages both young and old. If you don't find it in your playground, demand it!"

While NEOS is designed for games of one or two players, teams of four or eight players with varying abilities can be formed. In addition, the size and design of NEOS allow for creativity in how the games are played. “When we first tested the game at schools, we found that kids were sometimes teaming up in groups of four or six players to try and achieve higher scores,” said Miller. “The social aspect of the game is tremendous.”
