July 10, 2008 (FPRC) -- VAnetworking.com member and owner of Virtual Assistance business, Instant Office Assistant, Pat Zappavigna from The Jersey Shore has just received the unique distinction of being the first “VA” to successfully complete her VAinternship. The VAinternship program was launched by VAnetworking.com, as a way to provide “real”, hands-on “virtual” work experience and some much needed confidence to new and aspiring Virtual Assistants.

“Most women and men new to the Virtual Assistance industry are extremely eager to get started working, but it can sometimes take longer than people expect to land that first client,” says Sutherland, Certified Internet Business Specialist and founder of VAnetworking.com. She goes on to say, “These VAs have years of experience providing top notch administrative assistance, but they often want more knowledge about what’s involved with actually operating a VA business. Without exception, new VAs want experience to add to their portfolios and boost their skill sets.”

Through the VAinternship program, new VAs receive real projects that are facilitated by established VAs. In order for a VAinternship to be considered successfully completed, a VAintern must complete a minimum of ten different projects in a time frame of 120 hours. This gives a VA a substantial amount of insight into what is really expected by clients that use the services of Virtual Assistants. To date, VAinterns have completed a variety of projects including ebook formatting, internet research, article and press release submissions and audio transcription. They have also created a website for Hands of Compassion as a charitable donation.

Pat Zappavigna, the program’s proud first graduate says,”What a phenomenal difference this program has made in my confidence, skill set and business. There is a definite difference in possessing great skills and knowing how to utilize them “virtually”. The VAintern program allowed me to practice my skills and learn how to support professionals remotely, as well as learn new skills that are in high demand in this growing industry.” Pat has received a Certificate of VAintern Work Experience Completion and a VAintern logo to display on her website.

If you are considering becoming a virtual assistant, now is the perfect time to join VAnetworking – the global meeting place for more than 8,900 aspiring and successful VAs. As a member you’ll not only be eligible to participate in the VAinternship program, but you will have access to over 90,000 posts, expert advice on work-related topics, weekly VA chats, monthly contests, the VAnetworking Newsletter, discounts on products and services, and placement on a growing listing of VAs in 14 countries in the VA Service Directory.

If you are a business owner who would like to learn more about the VA industry, where better to look? You can’t beat VAnetworking.com when it comes to resources and the vast pool of professionals from which to draw.
