California Man Owing 5 Years of Back Taxes is Debt Free With Help from the Nation’s Leading Tax Negotiation and Mediation Firm and the IRS Offer in Compromise Program

July 11, 2008 (FPRC) -- Encino, CA – A California man who owed the IRS thousands of dollars in back taxes is debt free with the help of Tax Resolution Services (TRS), a company that specializes in providing affordable solutions to people with IRS tax problems.

In 2003, Matt C. was in a situation of despair, owing nearly $40,000 to the IRS. A friend referred him to Tax Resolution Services and he hired the company to help him file 5 years of back taxes. The tax experts at TRS also helped him qualify for an Offer in Compromise, which provides taxpayers who owe the IRS more than they could ever afford to pay, the opportunity to pay a small amount as a full and final payment. With the help of TRS, Matt C. took advantage of this relatively new IRS program to have his back tax liabilities, penalties and interest reconsidered. A year after he retained TRS, Matt C. won an Offer in Compromise settlement for $1,500. And when the negotiated settlement was paid, all of Matt C.’s federal tax liens were released.

"We are an emergency room for people with IRS problems,” said Michael Rozbruch, founder and CEO of TRS. “When we are hired to file an offer in compromise, we strategize with the client before hand to get their finances in place to ensure as much success as possible when mediating and negotiating with the IRS. It's like doing financial planning in reverse.”

In 2005, 73,000 Offers in Compromise were submitted nationally with only 14,500 or about 20% accepted by the IRS. TRS’s acceptance rate on the Offers in Compromise they submit is nearly 5 times (approximately 90%) the national average.

“If the layman attempts to go through this process without proper representation, their Offer in Compromise will not only get rejected but they will end up owing the IRS more money—in additional accruing penalties and interest—than when they started the process,“ Rozbruch said.

Matt C. says he is grateful to TRS for helping him clear his name with the IRS and most importantly, for not letting a potentially devastating financial situation ruin his life. He even says he waited till the last minute to get help with his taxes this year, but TRS was at the ready to make sure his 2007 taxes were filed on time.

“The best reward I have received from doing business with TRS is in knowing that my tax concerns are being handled by the best possible group of tax pros there is, and that I never have to worry about having a tax problem again,” said Matt C.

Tax Resolution Services is dedicated to providing affordable solutions to businesses and individuals alike who find themselves in trouble with the IRS. The tax experts at TRS have a success rate of 90% - second to none in the industry - and an OIC Settlement Rate of $0.13 on the dollar.
