July 29, 2008 (FPRC) -- Professor Wilbur Belton & LADWEC gained fans across the country with their 2007 up-tempo megahit 'Come Bless His Name'. Sung in choir stands nationally and written and produced by GRAMMY, Stellar and Dove Award winning producer Steven Ford, the song flung doors of opportunity open for the Washington, D.C.-based singing aggregation. Now the group returns with their follow-up to 'Come Bless His Name' with 'Great & Mighty', another powerful selection of choir music targeted specifically to the church. Professor Wilbur Belton & LADWEC will be releasing the CD on Tuesday, August 5th with a celebration at The Master’s Child Church & Worship Center located at 2001 Brooks Drive in District Heights, MD at 7:00PM. Admission is $15 which includes a copy of the brand new CD, 'Great & Mighty'.
Winner of a 2007 EnSound Award, a 2007 Washington Area Music Award Nomination for Best Mass Choir, a 2005 Gospel Award for Best Traditional Choir, and The Community Choir Award, Professor Wilbur Belton & LADWEC is no stranger to accolades. With the new release, the praise is sure to continue. Tracks like the memorable title tune, 'Great & Mighty' and the self-proclaiming 'I Am God’s Anointed' is certain to inspire. Other great songs include the uplifting 'Magnify Your Name', the moving 'Trust Him’ and the festive 'He Brought Joy'. Belton, who is the uncle to gospel sensation, Tye Tribbett, has worked with many artists including Vickie Winans, Marvin Sapp and Dorinda Clark-Cole and is an educator, founder, and Executive Music Director of the Excel School of Music as well as Minister of Music at Church of Jesus Christ, both located in Washington.
