August 12, 2008 (FPRC) -- The Fantasy Jungle, a premier fantasy sports website, announces the addition of a FREE Fantasy Football Contest for this football season, with over $10,000 in cash prizes. It is a salary cap style contest where players will have the option of selecting their lineup each week, or keeping it the same from week to week. The prizes will be awarded both weekly and to the top players.

The totally free fantasy football contest will allow new players to try fantasy football, play in a national contest and still be able to win cash. While there are other free fantasy football games on the market, most of them don’t offer cash prizes.

'There are a lot of services out there that have free fantasy games, but you are playing to win a t-shirt of you have to pay a hundred dollars for live scoring or to set up your stats, so it ends up not being free. With our FREE contest, everything is 100% FREE. You just need to come to our site and sign up, and you are ready to go,' comments Michael Williams, Fantasy Jungle Co-Owner.

In addition to the free game, the contest provides all players with access to all player statistics during the season, great free fantasy football content that includes articles and rankings, live scoring, and access to everything that The Fantasy Jungle offers to its customers. Each person may operate one team per user id, and can get that id by signing up at http://www.fantasyjungle.com.

'Fantasy Football is such a fun thing to do, and it is growing by leaps and bounds. The National Contests offer the utmost in competition as they give you a chance to see if you are the best in the entire country, not just your home league', says Scott Gunaca, Fantasy Jungle Co-Owner,

This 2008 Free Fantasy Football Contest is a great way to spread the word about fantasy football and to show your spouses, friends, and co-workers what fantasy football is all about. It’s also a great opportunity for anyone who is curious about fantasy football, but hasn’t yet played, to try their hand at the game without any pressure.

Signups for Fantasy Jungle Free Football are open now and continue through Week 17 of the season. Every player who enters before Week 1 of the season is eligible for the grand prize of $5,000. In addition, the highest weekly score of the season will win $1,000, and each weekly winner will win $100.
