Luxury Car Manufacturer Calls on Datacraft to Establish Centralised Ip Telephony and Contact Centre Solution in China

Datacraft, the region’s leading IT solutions and services provider, has completed a 10-month contract to set up a centralised IP Telephony (IPT) and contact centre solution in China for one of the world’s most prestigious luxury automobile manufacturers.

September 28, 2008 (FPRC) -- With the strong demand for luxury cars in China, the manufacturer has to step up on its innovation in order to keep pace with its rapid business expansion. With the addition of new offices as well as sales, administrative and managerial staff, the existing PABX telephone system was becoming inadequate in addressing the communications and collaborations needs of the expanded operations.

The client approached Datacraft looking for a telephone system replacement that would ensure smooth communications while leveraging low cost Internet connections in the key cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. In response, Datacraft provided a blueprint for a comprehensive IPT solution that connects branch offices and depots across China, whilst incorporating a new contact centre to support continual service improvements to meet the discriminating needs of their customers throughout the country.

The deal required Datacraft to provide a comprehensive range of services including design, consultancy, implementation and a three-year Uptime maintenance services contract. As part of the solution, Datacraft also worked closely with Cisco to implement the following products: Unified Communications Manager, Unity Express message system, SRST (Survivable Remote Site Technology), IPCC Call Centre system, Billing system, Voice Router and POE (Power over Ethernet) switches.

Unified communications allows employees to access messages on any devices, no matter whether they are delivered via email, SMS, Instant Messenger, mobile or fixed line phone calls. Comprehensive messaging systems and backup redundant phone systems reinforce the effectiveness of this state-of-the-art system in ensuring that company employees are never out of touch.

'For a luxury brand, service and quality are paramount. The new communications infrastructure not only offers an important productivity boost to a complex car manufacturing organisation, but service quality for the increasingly demanding Chinese consumers is also significantly improved,' said Shum Mew Toong, General Manager of Datacraft China.

'The Datacraft team was able to leverage its broad international experience to ensure that we met strict international standards for this project implementation,' added Shum. 'One of the biggest challenges we faced was to conduct an overnight migration from PABX to the new IPT system without affecting client business and this was successfully achieved using our proprietary IPT Project Management methodology.'
