November 13, 2008 (FPRC) -- Soon-to-launch wine company, Naked Wines, is looking to help totally unknown Wine Makers, with no agents or representatives, break into the UK market.
A Naked spokesman said, “There are some amazingly talented wine makers out there, from all corners of the world, that simply don't have the means, methods or connections to sell their product in the UK.
With packaging and transport costs, agent's fees, plus a cut for the retailer, winemakers are often left with very little profit themselves. It's an extremely hard game and the balance is all wrong.
We aim to ship directly from unknown producers – cutting out a raft of unnecessary costs along the way. This will not only ensure a fairer deal for the winemaker, but will also allow them to make a name for themselves in the UK – our ultimate aim.”
