November 19, 2008 (FPRC) -- Pasadena, CA — With a rise in workplace diversity, there has been a surge in demand for diversity professionals throughout the nation. EmploymentCrossing recently launched DiversityCrossing (www.diversitycrossing.com), a niche job board that brings together every diversity job opening from all across the nation. As part of the EmploymentCrossing job-site family, DiversityCrossing seeks to list every job for diversity professionals in the United States in one convenient location.

''DiversityCrossing's goal is nothing less than to show diversity job seekers every job available,'' says A. Harrison Barnes, founder and CEO of DiversityCrossing.

''The recent economic and financial turmoil has not dimmed the want of diversity professionals even though other sectors have received a severe jolt,'' says Barnes.

Graciela Kenig in her book Best Careers for Bilingual Latinos, says that of late, corporate America has responded with diversity initiatives that seek to recruit, understand, and attract a Hispanic/Latino workforce. In this regard, Spanish was widely regarded as the country's second language, according to a national poll. Sources agree that with more than 40 million Hispanics in the US today and an estimated annual growth rate of 4.65%, the Latino community will add 1.7 million people to its population every year. This trend is creating a tremendous demand for diversity job seekers and bilingual experts who are fluent in Spanish and English.

Due to growth in the diversity industry, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that there are a number of emerging occupations in social services such as cross-cultural counselors, bilingual teachers, and consumer credit counselors. Banks and mortgage companies seek bilingual tellers and loan officers who can converse with their Latino clients. Insurance companies need claims adjustors and administrative staff to assist their diverse client base. Hospitals and pharmaceutical companies have the greatest demand for diversity professionals with a medical background, to better serve patients.

''The diversified US market needs diversity professionals who belong to different races, creeds, and professions to boost industrial, social, and professional ties with other countries. It is necessary for companies to sell goods and services to a multicultural market, and for that they need to hire people who understand the language and culture of their clients and their vendors,'' says Barnes.

The CEO of DiversityCrossing adds, ''Mostly, it is where diversity professionals look for jobs that matters a lot while starting out their career. DiversityCrossing is the solution to all their problems. The site aims to list all types of diversity jobs, as well as to provide details on career advancement opportunities and employment information related to a variety of industries,'' adds Barnes.

DiversityCrossing was launched to help diversity professionals sort out the opportunities that they might not find out about otherwise. Unlike other job boards, the site focuses solely on diversity jobs, and it doesn't charge employers to post jobs.

''There is an astonishing number of diversity job openings out there. We want to find them all,'' Barnes says.

DiversityCrossing charges $29.95 a month to view its job-opening research. The diversity job board also offers a free, seven-day trial to allow diversity job seekers to familiarize themselves with the service.
