ASBA Tucson Promotes Arizona Economic Stimulation

ASBA stimulates local economy through education, promoting local commerce this holiday season, and events which spotlight local businesses

November 23, 2008 (FPRC) -- ASBA’s (Arizona Small Business Association) Tucson office is continuing its commitment to ‘Connect and Grow’ businesses in the local economy via a series of sales and marketing workshops requested by members, and supporting Local First Arizona’s initiative to encourage the public to purchase local goods and services this holiday season, and all year round.

'Our members told us that what they could really use now is sales and marketing education. We are excited to offer our new Lunch and Learn Series on the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 at the ASBA Tucson location, in which we will offer monthly education on relevant sales and marketing topics that attendees can use to survive and thrive, beginning in December. We’re also proud to support the Local First Arizona initiative of stimulating the Arizona economy by reminding our neighbors to support local businesses by purchasing goods ands services that are locally produced', said Charlie O’Dowd, SR VP Southern Arizona.

One of these local businesses is Vin Tabla Restaurant, located at 2890 E Skyline Dr in Tucson, where ASBA will be holding a wine tasting event open to the public on December 2nd at 5:30pm. The event will be hosted by Master Sommelier, Laura Williamson, who will present a tasting of artisan wines and appetizers for $20 per person. Admission also includes 10% off dinner for those who choose to dine at Vin Tabla that evening, as well as 10% off all retail purchases such as wine, gift baskets, hand-made chocolates from Telluride Truffle, and their signature VinTabla Blend free-trade coffee.

ASBA is also pleased to announce that its 'Connect and Grow' campaign will be featured online, on billboards, bus enclosures and in ad campaigns and through media channels, statewide. November saw the installation of 5 billboards in the metro Tucson area and the start of a year long bus bench and bus enclosure poster campaign with our ASBA 'Connect and Grow' theme.

Additionally, ASBA closed the SASIE nominations and acceptance of applications. 180 companies were nominated for the Southern Arizona Smart Inspiring Enterprise nominations, a record, and a record turnout is also expected at the Temple of Music and Art for a SASIE evening on February 17th.
