Wal-Mart Supports California Troops and their Families this Christmas

Wal-Mart names 15 stores in Southern California to serve as drop-off locations for “Operation Christmas for Our Troops & Their Families” through Sunday, December 21, 2008, collecting new, unwrapped toys, new or used DVDs, diapers, calling cards and other donations to support local California active-duty and reserve military and their families.

December 10, 2008 (FPRC) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — To kick-off “Operation Christmas for Our Troops & Their Families V” and help ensure California’s troops and their families have a happy holiday season, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. today announced 15 stores in Southern California will serve as drop-off locations for people wishing to donate toys, DVDs and other gift items to local, California-based active-duty and reserve military and their families.

“Wal-Mart is proud to support Yellow Ribbon America and the ‘Operation Christmas for Our Troops & Their Families’ toy and Gift Card drive,” said Henry Jordan, Regional Vice President for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. “We take pride in supporting our local communities and benefiting our customers and their families, and wish all of our military men and women and their families a safe and healthy Christmas season.”

Members of the Yellow Ribbon America organization will be outside of the 15 Wal-Mart stores listed below through Sunday, December 21, 2008, collecting new, unwrapped toys, new or used DVDs, diapers, calling cards and other donations to support local California active-duty and reserve military and their families.

According to Yellow Ribbon America, in the last four years, over 247,000 donations have been collected statewide in support of the Operation Christmas for Our Troops & Their Families Toy and Gift Card drive, making it the most successful drive in the nation supporting our troops and their families.
