January 5, 2009 (FPRC) -- The 2008 Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home, built by major donor De Young Properties at the Brentwood Loma Vista community, was given away to lucky winner Lynn Brown of Coarsegold in the December 14th live television broadcast.

This year's event successfully raised $677,400 for a combined total with last year's giveaway of almost $2 million to help the kids of St. Jude fight cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. One hundred percent of the proceeds were donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which works around the clock to develop cures to save the lives of boys and girls, including children in the Central Valley.

Winner Lynn Brown said, "The home is absolutely phenomenal with wonderful craftmanship. As I walked through the home, I could see the considerable time and effort invested in building it. I am glad De Young was so generous and willing to support such a worthy cause as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."

Construction is already underway by De Young on the 2009 St. Jude Dream Home to be given away next Fall. Paula De Young, executive vice president of De Young Properties, said, "We became involved because we can help children everywhere while also changing the life of a local family by giving them a new home. It was a privilege being involved with this organization and we are thrilled with the Central
Valley's support for this cause."

Nestled in De Young's Brentwood Loma Vista community at Shaw and De Wolf Avenues in Clovis, California, the St. Jude Dream Home is a part of the great 3,300 acre Loma Vista community, master-planned by the city of Clovis. Offering 1,712 sq. ft., three bedrooms, two baths and a two car garage, the dreams of the winning family will come true with the home's long list of special features, including a brick-accented traditional elevation, imported granite kitchen counters and professionally landscaped front and back yards.
The home also features a durable and fire-resistant concrete tile roof, premium-grade tile floors, a spacious covered patio, General Electric appliances including a washer and dryer, the bold look of Kohler plumbing fixtures, a Honeywell energy recovery ventilation system to improve indoor air quality for healthier living, interior walls pre-plumbed for Home Defense Pest Control System and a continuous flow tankless water heating system for precise water temperature control. Additional innovative home design features include a large clean-air gas fireplace in the great room, dramatic volume ceilings, distinctive rounded wall corners and window casings and stylish interiors with decorative wallpaper, lighting and window shutters.

The Brentwood Loma Vista Model Home Center is open daily 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., located on the northwest corner of Shaw and De Wolf in Clovis. For more information about De Young Properties, visit www.deyoungproperties.com or call (559) 323-6004.
