We Demand Better

Congressman Lewis (R-Ca.) ignores district home owners who will loose their homes, has no comment on the massive drop in neighboring communities property values, and approves the erradication of endangered species. So that he can reap the financial rewards fron his major supporters, who will profit from the 29 Palms base expansion.

January 21, 2009 (FPRC) -- 29 Palms, Ca, - Some of you may be aware that the USMC/Navy are planning on expanding the 29 Palms Marine Corp base into several surrounding communities and wildlife preserves. People will be unwillingly displaced, thousands of home owners property values will be decimated, and endangered species killed.

The representative of the people’s interests in matters like these (eminent domain) is our Congress Person. Unfortunately for us that is Congressman Jerry Lewis (R).

Not only has Congressman Lewis failed to voice our concerns, he is completely ignoring his legal responsibility. He cares so little for his constituents that he won’t even bother to respond to our numerous communiqués.

Three of the financial benefactors who will benefit from the base expansion are General Atomics and Lockheed and SAIC, these are 3 of Lewis' main contributors (millions). A major conflict of intrests.

We Demand Better.

Our nation faces a debilitating financial crisis. If you pay any attention to the news you see that rather than addressing this crisis Congressman Lewis is once again still more concerned with partisan politics, than the welfare of his constituents.

Congressman Lewis consistently votes in favor of big business, his main financial supporters, over the interests of his constituents.

Let us not forget, Congressman Lewis was under investigation by U.S. Attorney Carol Lam (before she was so conviently removed) on charges of corruption, self-serving investments and pork-barrel sweetheart deals for financial donors.
