Corra Group Readies Its Services Background Checks on Seasonal Accountants

Corra Group prepares to service its accounting clients with preemployment background checks for what looms to be an historic tax season.

January 27, 2009 (FPRC) -- Corra Group is gearing up to prepare for the tax season, when accounting firms require background checks when they hire extra accountants and tax preparers for the busiest part of their year. Corra Group for years has offered preemployment screening services to the financial and accounting sectors. But sees this year is particularly challenging for that industry.
“We anticipate a large demand for added employment candidates,” said Gordon Basichis, Co-Founder of Corra Group. “The economic downturn and general revenue conditions will mean a host of challenges for those who prepare tax returns.
“Whether it relates to commercial and business concerns or for the individual, tax preparers this season will need to consider myriad losses and the appropriate write downs,” Basichis went on to say. “Every accounting firm, it would seem, will be in need of skilled tax preparation employees who can best tend to the needs of what will be some very nervous clients.”
Basichis took note of the dire economic conditions and explained that this may indeed be a historic tax season with accountants scrambling to maximize their clients’ tax advantages. “There will be a need to reduce the pain of this recession by taking write offs wherever possible,” he said. “Some years people don’t care quite as much. But you can believe this year everyone cares about how much they have to pay to Uncle Sam.
“Corra Group will offer a full complement of background checks, ranging from criminal background reports to education, license and certification verification checks,” added Basichis. “The last thing an accounting group needs is an unqualified tax preparer or one under indictment for financial fraud, working for its firm. With all the financial people under investigation, an reputable group must check out its accounting candidates before they hire.”
Corra Group is headquartered in Los Angeles, but services clients around the country and throughout the world.

BACKGROUND: Corra operates as Corra Group and specializes in pre-employment and corporate research and investigation. It is one of the few companies that will answer the phone.
