GRAMMY Award Winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir Former Lead Vocalist, Paige Strackman, Launches Solo Career With An Impressive Praise & Worship Debut

“Who Can Compare To You?” Delivers 14 God-Inspired Tracks

January 28, 2009 (FPRC) -- Paige Strackman, a new voice and a breath of fresh air in Christian music, sharpened her skills with one of the most popular, GRAMMY Award winning choirs, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Under the leadership of director Carol Cymbala, the choir is one of the most celebrated groups in Christian music. As a member, Strackman sang lead vocals on “Days of Elijah” and "You are Holy" on the choir’s GRAMMY Award winning release Live...This is Your House and "Oh Holy Night" from their popular Christmas album Light of the World. Now Paige Strackman launches out on her own with her brand new debut release, Who Can Compare To You?

With fourteen tracks focusing on the awesomeness of God, Who Can Compare To You? is a stunning collection of well-penned and heart-rending songs. The CD’s title tune, written by Jason Michael Webb (CeCe Winans, Michael Bolton, Fantasia), Alicia Olatuja (Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, BeBe Winans, Chaka Khan) and Michael Olatuja (Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee, Terrance Blanchard), is a moving ballad about the amazing attributes of God. Paige’s flawless soprano effortlessly weaves around this melody as it does around other tracks such as the CD’s festive opener “You Reign Forever”, the uplifting “Make My Life A Praise” and the gospel influenced “Say Yes”.

Although the Belmont University graduate is just releasing her first national CD, she’s seen success with a previous project. A cause close to her heart, the plight of starving children in third world countries, beckoned her to submit “Saving The Lives Of Malnourished Children” to the 2008 American Express Members Project. Out of 1190 project submissions, she was selected as one of the Top 5 finalists and American Express donated $100,000 to help needy children due to her submission.

The singer’s heart hopes that everyone who hears Who Can Compare To You? is touched. “When we went through the song selection process, I prayed that the songs written for this project would be reverent, worshipful, and would captivate the hearts of those listening in such a way that they would want to know God more, love Him more and live for Him more than they ever have,” says Strackman. “God has graciously answered those prayers. Even after all the work that went into this CD, when I hear or sing the songs now, I am moved to worship God and thank Him for all He’s done. I pray others who hear it will have the same response,” concludes the artist.
