February 9, 2009 (FPRC) -- Southern Compressors, located in Kenner, LA, has just launched a new website as a resource for someone considering remanufacturing their compressors. Replacing refrigeration compressors can potentially be expensive for plant, warehouse and transportation operators especially as temperatures begin to rise in spring and summer time. One alternative to purchasing a new compressor is to remanufacture your current compressor.
Remanufacturing is the process of restoring a used compressor to as a condition that is as close to new as possible. The compressor must be completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected. The integrity of the basic "core" parts - block, shaft, rods etc. - are closely inspected and checked against original equipment manufacturers specifications. They are re-machined to bring them back to specification to return the remanufactured engine to original equipment tolerances.
