February 4, 2009 (FPRC) -- O.C.L. is a non-profit organization that is designed to deter youth from violence and juvenile delinquent behaviors. This organization will strive to direct our youth into the path of success and change for a better future.
Marie Huntley is the Founder and CEO of On-Call Leadership. Born and Raised in Fort Lauderdale, Fl, mother of four, and graduate of Keiser University with an Associate’s of Arts degree and a Bachelor’s degree from American Intercontinental University in Criminal Justice and presently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice. O.C.L. is equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively prepare these juveniles for a lifelong intervention into fields they have never thought to be possible.
The goal is to prevent juvenile delinquency and inform the community that these are the times that we need to get up and show our youth that we CARE. We have one common goal as we relate to the youth that we are there with open arms and encouragement. Some of the things we have planned for the youth are dance classes that help out with anger, rap sessions that help relieve stress and frustration, poetry recitals for youth that deal with fear, developmental training that will help them deal with low self-esteem and confidence issues.
In the coming month, February 21, 2009, O.C.L. will have the opening Dedication Service located at Oswald Park, 2220 NW 21st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. We encourage all to come out and experience what we are doing.. All questions will be handled in a professional manner and any and all suggestions are welcome. The children are our future; let’s not sit back and watch them fall; instead let’s Deter them to Better.
