April 13, 2009 (FPRC) -- Compass Consulting Team is starting Pinkedin Employment Parties at ASU Karsten in Tempe. AZ. The Objective is to get People back to Work! The Twist is, they do it in a non-traditional way! The name evolved from Pink Slip Parties that are being held in numerous cities across the U.S. Compass Consulting Team took the idea and ran with it, but they wanted an "edgier", "hipper" name and chose Pinkedin. The Pinkedin Party "Goal" is to "match" potential employers, industry experts, and recruiters with the job seeker. The party serves to fill a "niche" for the professional job seeker that didn't get an outplacement package or is not comfortable attending large Job Fairs. There are no booths, or exhibits or long lines to manage. Just a group of professional, caring people gathering twice a month in a social setting to help the Job Seeker find meaningful employment and/or give their career a boost in the right direction! They can buy themselves a drink and start connecting with one another. "Good things come from networking and connecting with people. Each attendee will wear a colored "glow" necklace to distinguish themselves as a Job Seeker or Employer/Recruiter in addition to their "name" badge. They will also be given a roster of all the companies participating for easy reference. Connecting and talking to the right people is critical, so identification is a must!" says Jane Andersen, Compass Consulting Team, CEO.
Job seekers will find that attending a casual, relaxed event where they can ask questions, gain insight about the job search process or learn more about a particular company or industry without feeling pressured for time or attention takes the "stigma" out of the job search. "We know that 80% of the jobs out there will be filled through referral and networking, even though posting your resume' on-line is still recommended," says Al Andersen, President and COO. ASU Karsten was chosen for their ability to host up to 350 people at one time with plenty of parking, great service, great location, and great energy. Pinkedin sponsors include: the Arizona Technology Council, Goodwill of Central Arizona, the ASU Alumni Association, NetworkingPhoenix.com, Edward Jones, Novel Concept Studio, ArizonaRegionalMixer.com, and Aflac.
The Fee to attend is $15 for the Job Seeker. Employers/Recruiters and Industry Experts are free, but they insist that they be able to relay knowledge of their company, industry or job openings. After paying for food, the proceeds will go to Charity.
