May 8, 2009 (FPRC) -- Southfield, Michigan. Former Chief Compliance Officer for Hantz Financial Services, Inc., Bruce Coleman, has joined Bravata Financial Group, LLC, headquartered in Southfield, Michigan.
Founders of Bravata Financial Group and BBC Equities, LLC, Chairman, John Bravata and Vice-Chairman, R.J. Prior to joining Bravata Financial Group, Mr. Coleman served for more than eight years as the Chief Compliance Officer of Hantz Financial Services, Inc., a registered broker dealer with twenty offices in Michigan and Ohio.
The background and extensive experience of Mr. Coleman led him to Bravata Financial Group. In his words: 'It’s exciting to be part of a new, dynamic organization with the vision of John Bravata and R.J. Trabulsy.'
Mr. Coleman has been actively involved in the financial services and investment industry since 1969. During the course of his career, he has had a broad range of experience that includes the formation of several NASD broker/dealers; managing a trust investment portfolio for both equities and fixed income securities; managing a bank investment portfolio (Ann Arbor Bank and Trust); trading and underwriting municipal bonds (PaineWebber); and selling investment products to both retail and institutional accounts (First of America Securities).
He has also written investment policies and procedures, including risk controls and compliance issues for a bank trust department (Michigan National Bank), bank investment department and a capital markets division of a broker/dealer (First of America Securities). Mr. Coleman has held several senior management positions in both the banking and securities industry, and has testified in Federal Court and at various NASD arbitrations as an expert securities witness. He also serves as Industry Arbitrator and Chairperson, FINRA Board of Arbitrators.
Mr. Coleman holds various securities registrations and insurance licenses for Life, Accident, Health and Variable Contracts. He is Past President of the Bond Club of Detroit; former Chairman of the Municipal Advisory Council of Michigan; and Past President and Life Fellow of The Oakland County Bar Foundation.
Mr. Coleman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1967.
