June 2, 2009; Vancouver, BC - - Starlit Citadel; a board games store in Vancouver, Canada; recently announced the first winner of its monthly Small Board Games Publisher Contest - Dean Walls for his winning entry Carpe Disastra. Dean wins a copy of the game Carpe Astra.
'The Small Publisher Contest is our way of introducing great board games from independent publishers and designers;' said Tao Wong, CEO of Starlit Citadel. 'With the plethora of new board games released every year, it is difficult to recognize and find some of the best games out there, especially if they do not have the full marketing budget of the larger publishers.'
'Our monthly Small Publisher Contest provides an incentive to our customers to learn about these great games from the publishers and we work directly with the designers and publishers to come up with a contest that they will judge and appreciate.'
The first Small Publisher highlighted was Reiver Games, an independent UK board games publisher and designer. Games designed by Reiver Games includes It's Alive and Carpe Astra.
The Small Board Games Publisher Contest runs once a month on Starlit Citadel, beginning on the 20th of each month and ending on the 19th of the following month. Contestants may enter from any country, with shipping costs deducted for winners who are located outside of Canada
