July 2, 2009 (FPRC) -- Key West, Florida, famous for being the southernmost piece of land in the continental United States, is going Green, and Hotels are helping lead the charge.
The Eden House, one of Key West, Florida’s oldest and most beloved hotels, is helping to lead this charge and in July celebrates its 1 year anniversary as a Florida Green Lodging Program certified hotel. Not resting on its laurels, the Eden House is now in the process of stepping up their certification to the next level, seeking the coveted “Two Palms” rating. You can learn more about the Eden House and its Green program at http://www.edenhouse.com.
What does this mean for Key West? It means the estimated savings of millions of gallons of water each year, the reduction of chemicals in waste water, the reduction of solid waste, and the reduction of overall energy use and thus of carbon output.
For guests, this means that Key West - and the Eden House in particular - now offers a Green alternative for those vacationers looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
