August 21, 2009 (FPRC) -- Snider Advisors, an SEC-registered investment advisor known for teaching the Snider Investment Method® ranked number 1,417 on Inc. magazine‘s third annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Snider Advisors’ place on the list represents its three-year sales growth of 226.1%. “Our consistent growth is an indication of the need so many investors have for the strategies we offer for managing economic uncertainty,” said Kim Snider the Founder and CEO of Snider Advisors. This is Snider Advisors second year in a row to make the list. In addition to being number 1,417 on the Inc. 5000, Snider Advisors ranked number 54 for fastest-growing private companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX area and number 61 in Financial Services.
Kim Snider founded Snider Advisors after her entire portfolio was wiped out by a reputable and very well-known broker. This incident became a fork in the road, where Kim took on full responsibility for her own financial situation. The implications of what she learned led to this conclusion: To be a self-directed investor, one must first be financially literate. Secondary to that, an investor must have complete mastery of his or her behavior. The only way to do this is through a little investor education and a lot of discipline. This personal journey from insolvency to financial freedom, was a diagram for Snider Advisors, which started as a financial education firm and evolved into an SEC- registered investment adviser that now manages and offers investment advice on close to half a billion dollars in assets.
The Inc. 5000 list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- as of December 31, 2008. Revenue in 2005 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2008 must have been at least $2 million.
