September 30, 2009 (FPRC) -- Seattle, WA. - Health Care Hiring announced today that they have just introduced a new dental directory to include a search by federal NPI number (National Provider Identifier) for all registered dentists in the U.S., along with nationwide searches for many specialties in the dental profession plus dental labs and denture fabricators.
Dental hygienist and dental assistant jobs are among the fastest growing occupations in the country. Dentists' offices employ hygienists and assistants, in addition to clerical and administrative staff. Persons seeking employment in the dental field may use the Health Care Hiring dental directory as a local city search resource. Health Care Hiring has pioneered health care directories on the web, and gives jobseekers access to millions of healthcare jobs.
Dental specialties currently included in the Health Care Hiring dental directory are Endodontists (the branch of dentistry that deals with tooth roots and dental pulp); Oral Surgery (surgical treatment of the mouth and jaws); Orthodontists (straightening of teeth); Pediodontists or Pediatric Dentists (childrens' dentists); Periodontists (treatment of gum disease); Prosthodontists (replacement of missing teeth); Dental Laboratories (manufacturers of dental restorations); and Denture suppliers.
All providers who are registered to receive payment from Medicare are contained in the NPI registry, including dentists, physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, chiropractors, pharmacies and equipment suppliers. NPI searches may be structured by state, city, name, specialty, NPI number and "legacy" Medicare identifier number (OSCAR, PIN) as well as by physician UPIN code, Medicaid numbers, state license numbers, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, and other commercial insurance codes. Since May, 2008, HHS (Department of Health and Human Services) has mandated that all providers receiving Medicare payments be registered with an NPI number.
Medical and health care providers may apply for NPIs. Application forms are available from CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services), at www.cms.hhs.gov.
