Choosy Learner To Combat Northern Irelands ‘Multiple Driving Test Fails’

Shocking Government statistics reveal the number of driving tests failed for the fifth time, therefore showing, more clearly than ever, the need for learners to be fully prepared for a driving test. One company has taken this as a challenge!

December 17, 2009 (FPRC) -- Following the recent revelations from the Environment Minister, Edwin Poots, who announced that recent statistics for learner drivers failing their driving test included the fact that a shocking 1,981 candidates taking their driving test last year had failed their driving test at least 5 times!

The statistics also included the fact that nearly 15,000 had failed their driving test when attempting it for the first time.

Firstly, why is this happening? Is it mainly down to nerves that didn’t affect them during their driving lessons, but as soon as they come face to face with their examiner? Is it simply that they were unprepared, having not taken any professional driving lessons? Was the training provided by driving schools insufficient to prepare them for the driving test? And secondly, what can be done about it?

Now ‘Choosy Learner’, who already provide a limited service for learner drivers in Northern Ireland have seized the opportunity to expand their service and demonstrate what can be achieved by finding a top quality driving instructor, who can ensure that the learner driver is full prepared for the driving test (and then, by default – for life!).

The service allows pupils to find and compare several local driving instructors with the minimum effort – the system not only allows pupils to request individual quotes, but also to insert any additional questions that they would like to ask such as, ‘pass rate?’, ‘qualifications?’, etc.

Choosy Learner already has in excess of 500 driving instructors in the UK as well as dozens registered in Northern Ireland, including driving instructors Belfast – all this in less than 1 year.

Alan Wilson, Choosy Learner’s managing director said, “We are looking to achieve 3 main objectives:
Number 1: Educate people to realise that all driving instructors are simply not the same, either in qualification or quality. Number 2: Stop the culture of simply ‘trusting’ a large driving school to send an instructor ‘at random’ (we want the pupil to be able to choose themselves)
And number 3: To put those points together to get a good deal for a good instructor!”

Any driving instructor will admit that failing the driving test multiple times is not solely down to the driver training or even the pupil. This is due to the fact that literally anything can happen on the day of driving test and you could hardly say that nerves are anyone’s ‘fault’. This said, by ensuring that you use one of the best driving schools available in Northern Ireland will undoubtedly mean that these figures could (and really should) decrease.
