January 15, 2010 (FPRC) -- Sound effects and royalty free music library SFXsource.com recently added the entire Blastwave collection to their offerings as single downloads. While the Blastwave sound effects collections are available elsewhere on the net, SFXsource.com's approach to cataloging the massive collections is entirely unique, 'We spent innumerable hours combing through all 30,000 separate sound files and conforming them to our unique 650 sub-categories of sounds. Not only did we physically assign each sound to a particular category in our library, we also generated user-friendly titles for each one. While other sites offer the Blastwave collection as single downloads, they are often thrown into only a handful of categories, often simply named by a non-descriptive sku or unhelpful title,' says Adam A. Johnson, owner of SFXsource.com.
This meticulous human categorization of each sound within the massive Blastwave collection, combined with SFXsource.com's dynamic navigation, makes a streamlined searching experience for the user. 'All 650 sub-categories of sounds and royalty free music is accessible via a drop down menu from the homepage, making finding specific sounds very efficient,' adds Johnson. In addition, the entire Blastwave collection, as well as all the other thousands of sound products available on the SFXsource.com library, are offered in three formats: .44.1k .wav, 48k.aiffs, and .mp3s. As Johnson notes, 'Again, our formats distinguish us from our competitors who tend to offer only .mp3s or .wavs, not .aiffs ready for use in video editing.'
This recent addition further bolsters SFXsource.com's downloadable library of professionally designed sound effects, royalty free music, and loops. SFXsource.com also plans to make the Blastwave searchable hard drives available through its website in early 2010.
