Seville (FPRC) 21 January, 2010 -- The global language network International House World and its Seville branch CLIC IH predict growth in the year 2010, following a general pattern towards international study programs. With numerous students choosing to study their courses abroad rather than in their own home countries, student numbers are set to rise, in particular in this popular southern Spain study destination.
According to a report released by the Institute of International Education, the number of students pursuing their studies internationally has grown by sixty per cent since the year 2000. The figure for students being educated outside of their home countries at a university level currently stands at three million. In 2025, it's estimated that this number could reach over eight million. With the increasing preference for international study, many language schools around the world are anticipating student growth due the need for students to acquire foreign language basics as they work their way to speaking and writing in the language at a tertiary level.
Spanish has been a popular choice for international students for many years, and professors and students widely agree on the importance of immersion study to effectively learn the language. Over 300 million people speak Spanish as a mother tongue and it's the third most frequent language used online. Spanish holds second place as the most widely spoken (native) language, and it is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
CLIC IH has experienced a rise in student numbers that is predicted to continue in the coming years, especially in light of the findings released by the Washington-based Institute of International Education. The school is continually recognised as an appealing option for students due to the quality of the teaching staff, the attention to detail in preparing cultural and social events, and the central Seville location. CLIC students are also granted the opportunity to combine their studies in Seville with language courses in Vejer in 2010. From the historical city of Seville and its beautiful natural setting to the Costa de la Luz, students are able to maximise their time spent at Spanish classes Spain by experiencing more of a taste of the diversity that the country has on offer.
