January 27, 2010 (FPRC) -- Dr. Ralph A Kruse, Jr., a chiropractor in Chicago employs multiple approaches to his practice of pain relief. After a few years of working on a breakthrough approach to pain associated with pregnancy, he is excited to announce a modification to a time tested chiropractic technique that is showing astonishing results in easing back pain for pregnant women.
Pregnancy frequently leads to lower back and leg pain. Unfortunately, because of the pregnancy, few treatment options are available. Diagnostic procedures, such as x-ray can be harmful to the fetus, as can many medications and physical therapy procedures.
Dr. Kruse is a certified practitioner and instructor of Cox Flexion- Distraction Decompression, a technique frequently used for the treatment of lower back and leg pain in other patients. Often this pain is caused by disc problems and/or sciatica. He has been using this technique on other patients for over two decades with great results.
Recently, Dr. Kruse found that modifying the Cox decompression treatment, taking into account the different anatomical issues that must be dealt with during pregnancy, has been successful. He has authored numerous case reports and studies documenting the efficacy of his technique. He has also written and published a chapter titled “Low Back Pain of Pregnancy” in Dr. Cox’s book "Low Back Pain: Mechanism, Diagnosis, and Treatment, 7th Edition".
