February 12, 2010 (FPRC) -- This year, as blizzard after blizzard prompted President Obama to name the storms closing down the Washington DC area 'Snowmageddon,' at least one business owner is determined to keep his scheduled business on track. Four Sales Ltd, the mid-Atlantic’s largest professional estate sales, auctions and appraisals company managed to work with clients and communicate with customers so that scheduled estate and moving sale events will still take place on schedule despite the inclement weather. According to President and CEO Daniel Sanders, 'the sales will still take place within our clients’ timelines, but only when we can be sure our customers and staff are safe.'
In fact, Four Sales is so successful in working with both customers and clients that the business already has a full schedule of estate sale and auction events into April. In this line of business, bookings so far in advance are unusual and are a reflection of the way the company has run events for the last 38 years.
Four Sales handles traditional estate sales (due to a death in the family) AND moving and downsizing sales. Most of these sales are held on-site at the residence where the items to be sold are located. In addition, there is a monthly indoor auction held in Madison, Virginia where more valuable and collectible items are sold by a live 'fast talking' auctioneer.

February 26, 2010 - Participation in the Erickson Retirement Community at Riderwood’s (in Silver Spring, MD) upcoming Move-in Expo. These types of events are an opportunity for potential residents to learn more about the process of down-sizing effectively into new (usually smaller) spaces. Four Sales will be addressing the topic of what to do with the things you can’t move with you.

Schedules of upcoming estate sales can be found at the Four Sales website along with a map to help you find the sale, descriptions and photos of items for sale. Residential estate sales are generally three day events, so there is ample opportunity for all interested customers (buyers) to find a convenient time to attend. With an average attendance of 1200 shoppers per weekend, Four Sales regularly sells 95% of the value and 85% of the physical contents. According to Sanders, the company confidently takes the approach that 'If we haven’t sold it in the course of the estate sale, it wasn’t meant to be sold.' Items not sold are either left at the estate, or donated to a charity of choice or as otherwise designated by the client. The donation is handled for the client by Four Sales.
