February 16, 2010 (FPRC) -- St. Augustine Florida based company Pigskins and Ponytails™ has officially announced their game day apparel for women is now available for purchase online at www.pigskinsandponytails.com.
Pigskins and Ponytails™ is the brainchild of business owners Sarah Bress and Wendy Newell. Like any other gal fan they knew, Bress and Newell were tired of looking for fashionable and hip outfits to wear to football games and tailgating events. They wanted to wear something stylish in their favorite team colors without having to wear the logos, mascots, or an oversized jersey. Since both women had careers in the fashion and apparel industry, it was a logical step to launch Pigskins and Ponytails filling the existing void in ladies sports fan apparel.
Initially, the focus for Pigskins and Ponytails™ was on ACC and SEC college football teams. However, it took no time before customers wanted the same product available for professional teams including NFL, MLB and NBA. When asked where this might lead them, Newell reported, “The Sky is the limit. We have had an overwhelming positive response. We are currently in product development with our production facility adding new team color combinations, new dress styles, new tee/tank designs, and a line of velour tracksuits and leather handbags. Our jewelry line is one of our most impressive performers, it was an afterthought actually and once it launched we were immediately deluged with customers. I think customers also like the fact that our entire product line is made right here in the U.S.A. We are very proud of the jobs we have been able to create in that respect.”
Bress was quick to point out that her favorite part of the business is the opportunity for Fundraising. “Pigskins and Ponytails™ currently partners with local charities all over the nation. Any non-profit organization can implement our fundraising program to promote a fun and lucrative event specifically designed around their favorite local charity. We have had great success working with sororities. Sorority sisters are obliged to raise money for charity, usually local charities, and we help them do it in a fun, unique and effortless way. Our motto is Fashion, Football, Fun and Philanthropy.”
