April 18, 2010 (FPRC) -- Heartland Energy Development Corporation of Englewood (Denver), Colorado, is pleased with the completion of the Iron Chapel well in Section 9 of 6N 3W McClian County, Oklahoma. The well was drilled and completed in December of 2010. The well reached a total depth of over 11,300' and tested all the formations above and including the Arbuckle.
Open-hole logs indicate hydrocarbons in the Hunton Limestone, Woodford Shale and Sycamore sands. The well was subsequently completed in these reservoirs with perforations and then treated with a 24,000 bbls slick water fracture. The flowback of the fracture treatment is under way and the well is currently being outfitted with surface equipment and put into production.
HEDC is excited about this well as it has put into practice new fracturing techniques to benefit from known hydrocarbon presence. The well was drilled in the middle of a triangle of 3 extremely good Hunton wells, together cumulatively producing over 150,00 bbls of oil. However, these wells were drilled years ago before massive hydraulic fracture techniques were established. It is believed by Heartland that the new stimulation technique will substantially increase the ability of one well to produce oil from the highly fractured and low porosity Hunton limestone reservoir.
