May 25, 2010 (FPRC) -- Small tourist website for Alcudia in the north of Majorca has seen record numbers of booking being made through the website for holidays to the resort despite the ongoing flight disruptions caused by the volcanic ash cloud problems.
Ross from Alcudiaholidays.org.uk say this: "We were expecting poor levels of holiday booking to be made this summer, but in the last couple of weeks bookings for package holidays have exceeded the previously preferred hotel + cheap flight deals that most people were booking and we have now exceeded last years number of holiday bookings"
"We have put this down to a renewed trust in large tour operators like Thomas Cook, First Choice and Thomson who offer piece of mind for holiday makers. With the collapse of cheap flights provider Flyglobespan last year the number of low cost carriers flying to the island has shrunk and the issues with volcanic ash and BA strikes mean that package holidays offer a cheap and more reliable way to book a holiday this year"
In addition to this Majorca remains an easy and quick destination to fly to from the UK, which again appears to be reassuring for holiday makers who are looking for a hassle free holiday.
