July 8, 2010 (FPRC) -- Southern California--Leading Southern California Immigration Attorney Carlos Batara recently took on the Hemet, CA City Council during an open debate on Arizona's controversial Senate Bill 1070. After a public statement, Batara went to his blog to explain his stance against SB 1070.
"By supporting a law which confuses immigration reform with criminal and drug-related activities, the City Council widened the gap between various ethnic communities in Hemet. Perhaps more than any other aspect, the failure to distinguish two separate issues causes Hispanic communities to question the true intentions behind SB 1070. Not all undocumented border crossers are drug dealers or people who commit violent crime," said Riverside County-based immigration attorney Carlos Batara, Batara Immigration Law (http://www.bataraimmigrationlaw.com/).
In his blog, 'Batara on Immigration: Personal, Passionate, and Provocative Insights and Tidbits', Batara regularly covers issues in immigration policy, civil rights, politics, immigrant rights, and international relations. In recent posts Batara has taken on a variety of controversial subjects in addition to the firestorm behind SB 1070. A recent post discussed the rights of immigrants serving as military personnel; a post entitled 'Bullies In Black Robes: A Critique Of Immigration Courts And Immigration Judges' took an inside look at the causes of unfair treatment by the immigration courts; and in another post Batara petitioned for sweeping reform by the Board of Immigration Appeals.
"Immigration law is more complex than most people realize. My blog takes on the issues behind the laws, to heighten public knowledge about immigration issues and to inspire the spirits of clients during their struggles to become regular, contributing members of American society," says Batara.
As a Southern California immigration lawyer, Batara has handled the gamut of immigration cases including Deportation and Removal Defense, Immigration Court Hearings, Immigration Appeals, Green Cards, Lawful Permanent Residence, Citizenship, Naturalization, Asylum, Withholding, Violence Against Women Act, BIA Appeals, AAO Appeals, AAU Appeals, USCIS Appeals, Ninth Circuit Appeals, Family-Based Petitions, Fiancé Visas, Fiancée Visas, International Adoptions, Employment-Based Petitions, NACARA, TPS, Convention Against Torture, Registry, U Visas and T Visas. Additionally, Batara Immigration Law helps immigrants navigate through the courts in marriage, divorce, spousal and child abuse cases.
