Association for Women in Technology Presents 9th Annual Wine and Dine Fundraiser
Organization triples scholarship dollars, awards $2500 to three Southern California women pursuing technology or science related education

IRVINE, Calif., July, 2010 (FPRC) -- The Association for Women in Technology presents its Ninth Annual Wine and Dine Fundraiser on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa, Calif. The annual event features smooth jazz, professional networking, a wine tasting experience, boutique shopping, and opportunities to win luxury gift baskets. Proceeds from the event benefit the AWT Charitable Foundation. Through proceeds from last year's wine event, AWT awarded Shannon Stanton with a $2,500 scholarship.
'The money granted by this scholarship would ease the burden of paying for housing, books, and food not covered by savings,' said Stanton. 'I am eager to get involved in research in the field of Computer Science.'
The Association for Women in Technology established the AWT Charitable Foundation: 501(c)(3) to provide scholarships for women in Southern California who desire to study technology at a vocational school, community college, or four-year institution. The Foundation's scholarship program supports the mission of AWT to increase the number of women in technology careers, foster career advancement through professional development and education, and provide a supportive network for women in technology. Since it's founding in 2006, AWT has awarded multiple scholarships and raised over $20,000 scholarship dollars.
