July 20, 2010 (FPRC) -- On the 25th of August 2010, the International Clap & Tap Chamber Orchestra will be holding a much anticipated event which includes a workshop as well as a concert. The event will take place at Dewan Sri Pinang, George Town, Penang and is organised by the Penang Symphony Association.
Visitors should keep in mind that due to its limited number of hotels Penang can pose some difficulty when attempting to book a room, and bookings should be made well in advance.
Founded in 2001 by the renowned Taiwanese composer Mr. David L.H. Wen, the International Clap & Tap Chamber Orchestra has devoted itself to promote music education and desires to establish a better music learning environment for young people. Years of training and education has grown the young members of the International Clap and Tap orchestra into highly skilled, passionate musicians.
Recently the orchestra has formed a children’s choir, a brass quintet as well as an ensemble of wind instrument players for its symphony orchestra. In addition to that the Orchestra has put in place branch orchestras in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Singapore, Taipei and Taiwan.
Starting in summer 2006 the Clap & Tap Chamber Orchestra has been holding a series of concerts to give members of the community the opportunity to hear quality music from a variety of styles, featuring a range of different instruments. The Orchestra says that the aim of all of this is to spread the knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of music.
