You Can Laugh After Your Divorce - If You Move On This Way

August 7, 2010 (FPRC) -- The amount of divorces that occur annually in this country have increased dramatically just in the last few years. Perhaps it’s because a lot of couples stay together for the sake of the kids or maybe it’s because people marry for the wrong reasons. Whatever the case, more and more children are being hurt daily by divorce and a groundswell seems to be have formed that wants to address this vital issue.

Part of that movement, Tracy Timby of Timby Hunt, Newtown, Pa, www.timbyhunt.com, decided to launch their new website and design it so that people can interact with other people while they are actually on her site. This is done using Facebook as its base and parents all over the country can communicate with each other about divorce, talk about the problems associated with it, and also point out the symptoms that can be avoided. And for the parents locally, why not talk about divorce in Bucks County? As for the site itself, the theme is pretty straight forward; standard divorce versus the collaborative approach.

In the case of the former, hiring 'a shark' or a conflict oriented lawyer is expensive. They make money by stirring up controversy as they look for problems, no matter how small, and exploit the situation. The more contentious the couple is, the more often they will take their issues to court, the more hours the attorney spends on the case, the larger the bill. In the case of the latter, arguments do not lead to agreement. Effective and skilled negotiation, taking into account all aspects of the family does. The couple and the attorneys sign an agreement that they will use all efforts to come to an agreement and not go to court. The control is placed with the parties, instead of a Judge or a family master.

As more and more parents became educated about this new concept through word of mouth, the more Tracy Timby knew that a site dedicated to that process would speed up awareness. Why should your children see two negative role models just because you are getting a divorce? This is what the interaction is all about through Facebook, Twitter and her blog. Why can’t people divorce peacefully and move on with their lives? Divorce in Bucks County (where Timby Hunt is located) should be easier.

Timby says, 'Law firms do not want to drop the standard way of practicing divorce law. There is too much money in it. However, I am of the opinion that less people would stay together strictly for the sake of the children if they knew about the collaborative process.' Timby goes on to laugh, 'with regards to law firms, they might get more business as people realize they can move on peacefully. Pain avoidance!'
