The Excel 500 and 600 Controllers are direct-digital control, microprocessor-based, programmable controllers that manage building functions. An Excel 500 can include up to 18 plug-in modules including a computer module, power supply module, optional modem module, and a site-specific set of analog and digital input/output modules. The Excel 500 uses a standard computer module. The flexibility of Excel 500/600 easily accommodate expansion. A network can link Excel 5000 system controllers (Excel 50, 100, 500, and 600), a Q7645A Excel Link, Q7750 Zone Manager, and a Communication System Server on a peer-to-peer Communication Bus (C-Bus) so they can exchange data. The optional Excel XI581/2 Operator Terminal provides an operator interface that supports an interactive question-response dialog for easy access to messages and controller data. The optional Excel X1584 Portable Operator Terminal (POT) is a software tool that runs on a portable computer and is used to install applications programs, implement on-site adjustments, and access controller information.
