Grammy Govs Kickoff 35 Conferette with Music Mixer
Music makers and industry tastemakers are slated to soon descend on the hottest Texas music scene north of SXSW. The Texas Chapter of The Recording Academy® Board Of Governors will host the 35 Conferette (formerly NX35 Conferette) kickoff mixer from 5-8pm on March 10th at Denton Banter located at 219 W. February 28, 2011 (FPRC) -- Denton, TX – Music makers and industry tastemakers are slated to soon descend on the hottest Texas music scene north of SXSW. The Texas Chapter of The Recording Academy® Board Of Governors will host the 35 Conferette (formerly NX35 Conferette) kickoff mixer from 5-8pm on March 10th at Denton Banter located at 219 W. Oak St., Denton, TX. The event is free to the public.
“I am excited to return to 35 Conferette for a music mixer where we as industry professionals and GRAMMY board members can strengthen and support Texas music,” said entertainment attorney Tamera Bennett, owner of Bennett Law Office and voted a “2006 Best Lawyer in Dallas Under 40″ by D Magazine. “Last year, over 85 industry professionals attended the mixer.”
The 2nd annual mixer promises unparalleled access to and information about the music industry in addition to excellent networking with other industry professionals and Grammy governors including Bennett; media consultant Monique Headley of Launch Media & Entertainment, other academy members, and industry professionals.
“35 Conferette showcases a great intensity and breadth of talent to make the Denton music scene significant with already seismic potential,” said Headley. “I appreciate the opportunity for The Recording Academy to continue to encourage such creativity and growth.”
Music Makers Mixers are locally held throughout the year as networking opportunities for entertainment industry professionals including artists, producers, engineers, songwriters, attorneys, accountants, managers, booking agents and members of The Recording Academy® Texas Chapter (the “Grammy®” folks).
Conferette performers include 135 bands and headliners such as OutKast’s Big Boi, gospel legend Mavis Staples and Dr. Dog.
