June 2, 2011 (FPRC) -- The new retirement community development will be built in the grounds of a former manor house named The Croft located in Bourne in Lincolnshire. This new development in Lincolnshire will include landscaped gardens and courtyards and will feature 68 one and two bedroom bungalows and three bedroom houses.

In addition, there will be a permanent estate manager on the new development to oversee and manage the site. The Croft development, being closely located to Bourne, offers fast and easy access to all local amenities including shopping facilities, a medical centre and public transport.

The manor house site was originally constructed over 100 years ago and is undergoing a restoration and refurbishment programme as part of the new development. It will also include original features and on-site community facilities including a resident’s communal area, meeting rooms and a library. There will also be a guest suite available for visitors.

To ensure that the move to The Croft development is as easy as possible, the house builders are offering a range of buyer services such as a moving service.

Jason Colmer of Larkfleet said: 'Residents of The Croft will benefit from the independence and security of property ownership without the day-to-day concerns of upkeep and maintenance. All properties at The Croft have been designed to minimise ongoing maintenance requirements - resulting in reduced running costs and lower service charges.'

With the ageing and retiring population at approximately 11.8 million and becoming the fastest growing age group in the UK today, new retirement and community developments such as these are set to grow in popularity.
