New Equity Scheme Launched For First Time Buyers in Kent

Buyers in Kent who are struggling to afford the deposits required to put down on a new home are being offered a scheme to help first time buyers get onto the property ladder.

July 13, 2011 (FPRC) -- The scheme is being offered by Hillreed Homes on their new development in Kent located in Kings Hill near Maidstone.

The scheme is a shared equity scheme which enables the purchaser to own the property outright whilst paying 85% of the value. The 15% balance is then loaned by Hillreed Homes, and buyers have up to ten years to repay the balance which is interest free over the ten year period, or when the property is sold, whichever is sooner.

The new development in Kent includes two bedroom apartments that come with integrated kitchen appliances, a secure entry system and allocated parking. Kings Hill has a range of facilities including schools, sports and leisure centre, shops, entertainment and a doctor’s surgery.

'Getting on the property ladder ensures a good long-term investment and gives the owner a true home', says Jo Richards, Marketing and Corporate Manager at Hillreed Homes. 'Many first-time buyers believe they cannot buy a brand new home because they will need somewhere in the region of £20,000 as a deposit, but this is not the case.'

The Kings Hill area in Kent has heritage associated with it including the Historic Dockyard and museum at Chatham and also rural countryside. It is well connected to major motorways including the M26, M2 and M20 and rail routes and close to main towns including Maidstone, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.

Prices start from £192,950.
