August 3, 2011 (FPRC) -- Hotels in Hobart can expect a busy old time of it this coming September as a major trail running and cross-country event heads into the popular Australian resort, online hotel room comparator DirectRooms.com advises advance booking of places to stay.
The 'Tassie Trail' refers to the Australian region of Tasmania, which boasts some of the most testing and challenging running courses in the country. Runners who are used to flatter road and track-based tracks can expect a shock to the system as they have to climb steep inclines and manage gravel-coated descents which test even the most experienced off-road runners.
This year's Hobart running event starts on Coningham Beach where the registration desk and starting line can be found. From there runners can expect to head off into some of Australia's most memorable scenery - albeit while allowed to compete the run at their own pace and on their own time.
Race entry fees are $30 AUS and the run commences at 9am prompt on 11th September. Hotels aplenty can be found nearby, but for the added convenience of a short walk to the race start - and a short walk to your bathtub afterwards! - advance booking is recommended.
