Tourists and locals will be mingling and enjoying all the fun of the fishing this coming September thanks to one of Indonesia's quaintest folk festivals - the Fisherman's Offerings of Pandasimo.

August 5, 2011 (FPRC) -- Indonesians and travelers from all over the world will be heading into the popular beach resort of Yogyakarta to enjoy a celebration of one of the region's oldest industries - the sea and fishing sector.
Visitors can look forward to lots of local seafood delicacies as well as shellfish barbecued on the beach under the night sky at the event, as well as much more besides. Locals are only too happy to teach visitors how to cook local dishes at cookery workshops and there are also great live music shows to enjoy.
The most popular place to enjoy the festivities is Poncosari, one of the area's prettiest traditional Pandasimo villages. All the fun takes place on 4th September this year and with so many additional visitors swelling the population of the village and area, cheap Yogyakarta hotels will be in short supply.
The Fisherman's Offerings event lets visitors to the region enjoy a truly different tourist experience, as they get to see a little of the area's history and culture as well as enjoy the great weather and beaches!
