Live Entertainment Prepares the Crowds for Rugby World Cup Games

September 7, 2011 (FPRC) -- Christchurch Arts Festival – Garden Variety is diverse mix of theatre, music and visual displays which will run in Hagley Park in the Christchurch Events Village. Fans are set to be entertained for two hours before each match by some of Christchurch’s greatest performers.
On two separate stages there will be live music consisting of the latest chart hits and another dedicated to speed dancing with performers throwing themselves into the most elaborate dance moves. The crash pad displays will also show just how physical rugby can be as the players hammer each other and pull off daring moves.
The programme is also going to include some special performances by Southern Opera performing along with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra to bring a classical touch to the shows. The aerial displays of the ‘Pandemonium Tree Percussion’ are another truly unique performance to look out for as well as the colourful characters from The Court Jesters, Tablo and Chant et Danse.
Rugby fans staying at a Christchurch City Centre hotel can see the shows which will run before seven games being held between 10th September and 23rd October 2011.
