October 5, 2011 (FPRC) -- CHICAGO, IL - Chicago elder law firm Peck Bloom, LLC is bringing new meaning to its passion for elder care. Members of the law firm participated in the 'Walk to End Alzheimer's' to advocate for Alzheimer's disease during September’s Alzheimer's Awareness Month.
Organized by the Alzheimer's Association, the Walk is the largest event in the country aimed at creating awareness and to raise funds in support of Alzheimer's care and research. Over 50 team members from Peck Bloom elder lawyers in Illinois participated in the event. The Walk was held on September 18 and drew over 4000 walkers who participated in the five-kilometer walk on the Chicago lakefront.
"At Peck Bloom we are very passionate about the various issues affecting elders and Alzheimer's is definitely one we have come across very often. Alzheimer's advocacy is a cause close to our hearts and participating in the Walk was an incredible opportunity for us to get involved and further support the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association," said Kate Konieczny, Marketing Coordinator at Peck Bloom, LLC.

He has also previously been a member of the Early Stage Advisory Committee and is a frequent speaker at programs sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association. In addition, Kerry Peck has also authored an article, published in the Alzheimer’s Association Magazine; which provides valuable expertise and insight about legal planning issues for Alzheimer’s disease. Peck is taking it a step further and is in the midst of authoring a book for the American Bar Association on Alzheimer's disease and the law.
"The Alzheimer's Association works so hard to create an awareness and raise funds for the disease and those afflicted by it and we definitely hope Peck Bloom's involvement and contribution furthers the cause," concluded Konieczny.
The Chicago 'Walk to End Alzheimer's' has raised over $635,000 thus far. The Illinois chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will use all donations to fund Alzheimer’s care, support and continued research.
