October 7, 2011 (FPRC) -- AppBox Corporation announced the Cloud VPN Duo product aims to enable frustrated SOHO users to enjoy the freedom of computing wherever and whenever, even if their computer desktops and computing resources seem to be locked up behind their building or campus wide network.
AppBox Cloud VPN Duo utilize OpenVPN connection client program which supports Microsoft Window, Apple MacOS X and various Linux distribution.
SOHO users will first initiate secure remote virtual private network (VPN) access through the OpenVPN connection client program to the AppBox Hosted Cloud Service, which in turn will pair up with the AppBox VPN Gateway physically situated at the remote location that's behind the building or campus wide network.
Once the VPN connection is established, SOHO users will then be able to use remote desktop or VNC program to access remote computing resources.
For any computer desktops or remote computing resources to be accessible via AppBox Cloud VPN Duo, those computer desktops or remote computing resources must be connected to the AppBox VPN Gateway.
AppBox Cloud VPN Duo bundle comes with AppBox VPN Gateway, AppBox Hosted Cloud VPN Service and three AppBox Client VPN keys. The bundle includes free 20GB data transfer usage (inbound and outbound combined) for the AppBox Hosted Cloud VPN Service. Any additional data transfer usage is billed at every 20GB, and additional AppBox Client VPN Key is available at additional charge.
