"We’ve had numerous customers approach us with the notion that steam cleaners can be used for auto detailing applications, such as exterior and upholstery cleaning," Daimer.com steam cleaner content spokesperson Matthew Baratta explained. Auto Detailing Myths

1) Steam cleaners can be used to clean vehicle exteriors. This is false, according to Daimer® experts, because, among other things, the steam devices do not generate adequate pressure to remove grease. 2) Steam cleaners can clean vehicle carpets and upholstery. Daimer® explains that this is false because the machines are not designed for deep cleaning. For this application, the company recommends an upholstery and carpet cleaner, such as the systems in its XTreme Power® line.
3) Company’s that only sell steam cleaner machines offer unbiased advice about carpet cleaning systems and pressure washers designed for auto detailing applications.
