October 14, 2011 (FPRC) -- TUBAC, AZ - Global Community Communications Alliance is hosting singer, songwriter and activist Jen Chapin at two different events. The events will support and bring awareness to local GCCA programs.

On October 5 the GCAA is hosting the Food Justice Workshop - A New Movement to Nourish America, at the Avalon Organic Gardens and Ecovillage. The event consists of a workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a locally-grown organic lunch. Tickets are priced at $10.

Chapin is a passionate food activist and has served as the Chair, Secretary and a long time board member of Why-Hunger. She has also worked with the Brooklyn Food Coalition and KIDS Can Make A Difference. She advises local and national schools with their food reform efforts.

"At the GCAA, our core mission is to serve and support the community through various programs. Having Jen on board and supporting our benefits is a big boost for the GCAA and we hope it brings many people to event," explained BenDameean Steinhardt, Executive Director of Global Change Multi-Media division of Global Community Communications Alliance.

The workshop will be followed by a concert by the Jen Chapin Trio on October 7 at the Tubac Main Plaza Stage. Chapin's music is best described as 'jazz tinged urban folk' and has received many rave reviews across the country. Ticket prices for the concert start at $13 with discounted rates available to seniors and children aged 6-17.

"All proceeds raised from both these events will go towards supporting the non-profit Personality Integration and Rehabilitation Program for teens and adults and Avalon Gardens Internships. I hope local residents will come along, support their community and have a good time," concluded Mycenay Plyler, Booking Agent and Marketing Manager of Global Change Multi-Media division of Global Community Communications Alliance.
