55+ Active Adult Community Solivita™ Honors Members Of Military During Veteran’s Day Holiday Weekend

November 11, 2011 (FPRC) -- Poinciana, Fla. — With the recent announcement by President Obama that U.S. troops in Iraq will be home for the holidays, this year’s Veteran’s Day may be one of the most celebrated yet. Solivita™ will host its Annual Salute to Veterans November 9th through November 13th in and near the award-winning 55+ active adult community community.

Beginning Wednesday, November 9th, 11 families of active duty military will arrive at Solivita to begin their weekend of celebration and honor. Five families from the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky will join six families from the U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida, for four fun-filled days and nights at Solivita and surrounding Central Florida attractions.
Each family will be housed in a stunning, fully-furnished Solivita model home, complete with a stocked refrigerator and golf cart for use while on the Solivita property. While staying at Solivita for the weekend, the families will have access to all of the property’s amenities—from swimming pools to wellness facilities and an art gallery—as well as to golfing on either of Solivita’s courses and dining in any of the on-site restaurants.
A schedule of events includes:
Thursday, November 10th - A day of fun at local Central Florida theme parks.
Friday, November 11th - Veteran’s Day Event on-site at Freedom Park, followed by a second day of fun at a local theme park.
Saturday, November 12th - The first annual Salute to Veterans event will occur from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Solivita model park. The general public is invited to join Solivita residents to honor these brave men and women and the families that stand alongside them.
