Top Investor Jeremy Grantham Recommends Farmland and Timber Investments for the Long-term
Grantham's comments validate boutique investment firm GreenWorld BVI's focus on offering farmland and other "hard assets to retail investors

November 15, 2011 (FPRC) -- Mr. Grantham, who has been in the investment world for 40 years, stated that “For those with a long horizon, I am sure well managed forestry and farmland will outperform the average of all global assets." Mr. Grantham is famous both for noting the great risk of stock markets in 2007, as well as calling the bottom of the market in 2009 when he urged investors to put money into stocks despite their fears.
GreenWorld BVI reacted extremely positively to Grantham’s comments. "We are big fans of Jeremy Grantham, and so when we read his comments recommending farmland investment and timber investments we were quite pleased as it validates our decision to focus on those assets," stated Josh Cohn, Partner at GreenWorld.
Cohn added that "we are of the opinion that we are in the middle of a long-term secular bear market in stocks, and that despite bull market rallies, the long-term trend in equities is that we are in a bear market for the next several years.”
